my name is janek schmidkunz

i am a berlin-born hobby photographer and content creator. i have a strong passion for photography and capturing emotions.

the love for photography has most likely been installed in me by my mother and her passion for shooting pictures. already as a little boy, i was always interested in the large slr cameras that my mother always carried with her.

in 2014, i dedicated myself to digital photography and took a course during my bachelor studies. this paved the way and sparked my passion to experiment with different and sometimes very complex camera settings and to jump into various photo projects.

nowadays, my camera is rarely missing from any of my adventures. portrait shots and the like especially strike my interest. portraits present a special charm to me because i love how they manage to convey emotions and expressions. to photograph a person particularly is interesting, yet fascinating at the same time and if done well can tell a whole lot about someone.
